On Friday, June 27, 2014 Pat’s Pedaling Pack gathered in the St. Barnabas parking lot to begin their 100k trek to raise money for Pat Mac’s Pack and families faced with the challenges of pediatric brain cancer. With a Chicago Police Department escort, the group of 46 riders began their inaugural ride in the fog through the East Side of Chicago. All riders successfully made it to the finish in Long Beach, Indiana.
Among the riders was Jack Millerick, longtime Working Bikes volunteer and avid cyclist. Jack transported the bikes of several Pat Mac’s Pack riders to Working Bikes for pre-ride repairs, and even helped a few riders pick out a Working Bikes bicycle to buy for the ride. We are happy to have been part of this meaningful ride and fundraiser. To learn more about Pat Macs Pack visit their webpage, here.
