Working Bikes will be collecting bicycle donations at the third annual Skills for Simple Living Fair, hosted by Sustain Jefferson.
Learn how to tie knots, stretch like a pro in a yoga pose, make herbal personal care products, identify Wisconsin birds, check your car’s pesky check-engine light and a host of other skills for self-reliance on Saturday, October 26, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Concord Community Center, W1095 Concord Center Dr. in the town of Concord, Wisconsin.
Again this year, Sustain Jefferson will be collecting old, unwanted and broken bicycles for donation to Working Bikes. Last year 150 bikes were collected at the skills fair — plus bike parts and child trailers.
Bring your bikes to Concord on October 26 between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Or take them before that date to the Ixonia Recycling Center, W1276 Elmwood Ave., Ixonia, Wisconsin on Wednesdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. or Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Or call 920-262-0892 to arrange a pick up, if possible, of your bikes.
The Fair offers 12 workshops, each 1 hour and 15 minutes long and all aimed at empowering you to do things for yourself.
