April 2014 – Working Bikes in the Beverly Review

In April 2014 Working Bikes was featured in the cover story of the Beverly Review, excerpted below.

“Beverly resident Jack Millerick was looking for a volunteer opportunity when, at a bike show, he met Lee Ravenscroft, the founder of the non-profit organization Working Bikes.

“We started talking, and he said, ‘Come on by,’” Millerick said. “I just showed up one day, and I’ve been going ever since.”

Millerick, a retired captain from the Chicago Fire Department, said he now spends two days a week working with other volunteers to recycle old bikes and help people in need.”

The Beverly Review is a local weekly circulation newspaper focused on Chicago’s Beverly Hills, Morgan Park and Mt. Greenwood neighborhoods. You can read the whole article here.
